On the 251st birthday of Addenbrooke’s the Cambridge-based, Academy of Ancient Music, came to the hospital to play music from the 18th century.
The orchestra, with instruments from the period, played work by composers including Mozart, who was already famous and on tour in Europe, aged ten, when Addenbrooke’s opened its doors in 1766.
On 13th October 2017, the Academy of Ancient Music spent a day at Cambridge University Hospitals working with different groups of patients. Through a collaboration with Addenbrooke’s Arts and Dance Moves they spent time with the hospital’s regular Dance for Health sessions in the Department of Medicine for the Elderly, performing for and improvising alongside patients and dancers.
